We insured two dogs with VPI. The first got sick a couple of months after the policy began, and they claimed the dog must have been beforehand and never paid a cent. The second was healthy for 10 years, they collected over $5,000 in premiums, and when he came down with cancer gave us $355 in annual benefits. I hope there is a ***.

I agree with Redhedy's conclusion. It's really no different that the fake/orchestrated fiasco over human healthcare a few years back when all the people defending private insurance companies when asked had never filed a substantial claim or in some cases ever had cause to actually call that 800# on their policy.

Let me help you rebill your claim. I have no doubt VPI ignored at least 5-10 health conditions that accompany cancer---ulcers, anemia, hypertension, dehydration, pneumonia, constipation, syncope, UTI, epilepsy, etc. Technically it is up to the policyholder to include all health problems but VPI tries to insult your intelligence by requesting med records and still refusing to accept diagnoses.

I would be happy to help.

Barb, you must work for VPI or nothing major wrong with your dog. The claims adjusters make decisions based on their ignorance vs. medical advice from the top specialists in the world. Can you say class action lawsuit?

I never really paid attention to my EOB's until recently. Wow!

I am sorry to hear that people have had bad experiences wiith VPI. We have 2 dogs and a cat covered and never had a problem. They usually paid our claims within 30 days of receipt. However, they have a list of benefits and how much they cover. That is all you will get and no more. So far, we have been pleased with their service.
